The Douglas County Health Department currently offers tobacco cessation counseling and classes for those wanting to quit tobacco use. You will be able to quit for good with this plan made with the latest medical research for people who have tried to quit before. There are three (3) major components: (1) Re-learn habit. You learn what makes you want to smoke and how to deal with those things without smoking; (2) Re-learn addiction. Learn the true power of nicotine and practice fighting triggers; and (3) Re-learn support. Learn how to ask for help from friends and family. Please contact Shirley Emerson or Sonya Hodges at (417) 683-4174 for information.
