Women, Infants and Children (WIC)

The goal of the WIC program is to improve the health and nutrition of eligible women, infants, and children. Participants receive:

personalized nutrition counseling provided by specially trained staff.
checks for nutritious foods including: Milk, Cheese, Eggs, Iron-fortified Cereals, 100% Natural Juices, Dried Beans, Peas or Peanut Butter.
routine growth checks and hemoglobin (iron) blood level analysis.

Who is eligible for WIC?

WIC serves pregnant women, non-breastfeeding postpartum women (up to 6 months after delivery or termination of the pregnancy), breastfeeding women (up to 1 year after delivery as long as they are breastfeeding the baby), infants from birth up to 1 year of age, and children up to their 5th birthday.

All aplicants must meet income guidelines.

Individuals who meet income and category guidelines will be assessed for nutritional risk factors during the certification process.
